Physicists Inspiring the Next Generation (PING): Exploring the Nuclear Matter 2021
PING 2021
The “Physicists Inspiring the Next Generation: Exploring the Nuclear Matter” (PING 2021) program consists of a year-long training interaction with the MoNA Collaboration in basic and applied rare-isotope based nuclear astrophysics at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams/National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (East Lansing, MI). The program is fully funded by the National Science Foundation under the NSF-award #2012040.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the two-week summer component for the PING 2021 program is reformatted into a two week remote period of research exposure with the potential for extension into the academic year. It includes high school students as participants and undergraduates as research mentors.
